We are ALWAYS Late... *Sigh* Week 40

Hola todos! :)  Como estan?

Hope you are all doing well!  Nothing really has happened this past week.. It has been quite uneventful.  :P  But it has been a good well!  Sister Shumway and I had a lot of meetings or Temple Tours that we didn't really have much time to see anyone.  School started today for the kids around here, so it will be really nice, because everyone will be home! :)

We were able to stop by and visit a few people this week though!  So that is good! :)  All of our dinner appointments were short so we weren't able to share any messages with them! :P  But that is okay! :)

We had an awesome lesson with Charlie though! :D  We were eating dinner with the Mausses and the LeSuers and she came over and we taught about missionary work.  We invited all of them to invite someone to Stake Confrence that is coming up in a few weeks.  They all said yes, and it was a great lesson!  She also came to Seminary Kick-Off last night and she is looking forward to going to Seminary! :)

We stopped by to just check on Irma and Jim and they let us in and we talked for a little bit. Irma's mom is now living with them and that has been kind of stressing Irma out. I offered to come over and talk to her mom for a little bit since her first language is Spanish. Just so Irma could take a break and get anything done that she needs to. :) But we had a very nice chat and she is really opening up to us. :) She is great! :)

We had a mission wide training this past Week on Windows of Heaven.  Unfortunately, we were very very late for it.  Of all days, our car stopped working!  It wouldn't even start!  :P  So we had to get help and we were late for the training by 40ish minutes.  We were only at the training for a good 20 minutes.  It was really sad and I was really looking forward to the training. But we got there, and that is all that matters! :)

Hope you guys have a great week! Love you all! :)

Con mucho amor!

TODO ES POS'IBLE CON DIOS! :') (Week 39/10 Month Mark..)

Bueno Bueno Todos! :)

FINALLY! A new transfer! :D  I have been dying for this transfer!!!! :D  Aaaaaand, my companion is so COOL!  Sister Shumway is my new companion, and she is just... AH!  She is the best!  We get along so well, and I just AHHHHHHH!  She is so cool!  She is so hard working and I just love her to bits and pieces!  It is so much better compared to last transfer.  It is like a huge weight has come off my shoulders.  She has been out for 3 months and she just got done with her training!  Sooo... I'm her Greenie Breaker! :D  Woohoo!  It has been really fun! :)  Really it is nothing different, it just is fun to be kind of an example to someone. :)

So many great things have happened this week!  It has been a huge miracle!  I have been so grateful for the things that I have witnessed this past week!  It is a huge difference compared to last transfer.  Last transfer a lot of NOTHING happened.  NADA. ZILCH. ZEROOOOOOOO.  But I'm grateful that we both want to get this area kicking! :D
First things first, WE PICKED UP A NEW INVESTIGATOR!!! Wooooooohooooooooo!!! FINALLY! :D It is Lori, whom we have been trying to see FOREVER.  The second day that Sister Shumway and I were together we went by and she let us in and it was just awesome! We shared the #becausehelives video and she really liked it. :)  She was super open to us and she wants to learn more. :) YAY!
Contacted Becca finally.. UGH.  Becca was kind a referral that the elders gave to us, and we went by seriously almost everyday when I was with Sister Ward.  But we were able to catch her on Friday!  Finally!  She is not interested.... The only thing she might have been interested in was the elders. :P  Ha.  Anyways.  :)
We were able to stop by and visit and share a message with Irma and Jim!  Es una Milagro!!!! :D  So many wonderful things are happening!!!! :D This my friends, is why we should be obedient! :D  We had an AWESOME lesson with them and we just talked for a little bit so Sis. Shumway could get to know them.  We them opened up the discussion about our Purpose of this life.  We shared Alma 34:32 and had Jim read it.  Jim believes that he creates his own purpose for himself, and Irma kind of believes the same thing.  We talked about what WE think our purpose is, and Irma was just so fascinated.  Jim, not so much.  Jim is just there to be there I think.. Irma is a little more interested.  They say they have no intention in believing in Christianity, but... We will see. :)
It has been a good week so far!  I really look forward to this transfer! :)  I feel like a lot of my prayers have been answered just in the past week.  The Lord answers our prayers only when we are ready to receive them, and that is something I've gained a testimony of immensely on my mission.  He will only grant us our deepest and truest desires only when we are ready and when he intends to give them to us. :)  Yay! :)

Stay cool guys!  I'm try! :P This random whether is going to KILL me. :P It is hot one day, Cold the next, I don't get it.

Oh, by the way, Voy a vomitar por que tengo 10 meces en mi mision... *Sigh* La mis'ion es bien rapido! :P Parat'e por favor!!! >:(

Chuck E. Cheese: Never Taking My Kids There... Hna. Rachel Duncan (Week 38)

Hola Todos! :)

Como estan?  Espero que estan mut bien!

This week was yet again kind of uneventful.  But we did have an opportunity to get our foot into a door for a potential family!  The Collins family, a family of 9, is going through a big trial right now.  Leslie, the mother, is going through chemo treatments for her second round of Cancer.  They are (obviously) not members, but they are super sweet.  We were able to do a little bit of service with them last week, and Brother Hobbins, the elders and us "entrtained" the kids for a few hours while the mom slept.  This past Saturday we pretty much did the same thing, and it was fun.  (Don't worry, we had an adult with us! :)) We went to Chuck E. Cheese's.... *Facepalm*  I will NEVER. EVER. Take my kids there.  *Cringe*
But a member came up to us yesterday and told us that she was visiting with her, and Leslie said that she was so grateful for us and so impressed by how much we had done for her and her family.  I was so happy! YAYYYYYYY! :D We are going to help her out by cleaning her home once she is done with her chemo this week, so we look forward to helping her!

We got the news regarding transfers, and I am staying here!  AAAAAAND... I'm getting a new companion! :D (If only you guys knew how happy I am about that..) I really look forward to getting a fresh start.  This transfer BY FAR has been the hardest transfer of my whole mission.  IT WAS SO FREAKING HARD.  Ugh.  But nonetheless, I am grateful for the things I have learned!

Nothing new really is going on...
My best friend is coming home from his mission this Friday... O.O *Gasp!*
Time goes by so fast.
Speaking of which, I only have 8 MONTHS LEFT... (Almost.  Nobody is counting or anything.. >_>)

BIEN HECHO, ZACHYKINS! I'm so proud of you!!!! ;D Be safe! :)

Hope you guys have a great week! Les Quiero! :)

Con mucho amor,
Hna. Rachel Duncan

I Got Nothing! :P *sigh* (Week 37)

Hola todos!

Espero que todo es bien para ustedes! :)

Hope you all had a good week. this week was so hard.  Slowest but fastest week ever.  Not much really happened, we have just been trying to see people, and everyone in our ward is literally GONE.  Everyone is trying to get as much done before school starts!  This past planning session we called or texted every single person on our ward list and only 5 or 6 people are able to see us this week.. WOOHOO! We are looking for lots of service, and we are going to try to do a lot of proselyting.  There will be a lot of times where we will be lost to do stuff, but we will stay busy!

Other than that... that... is about it. :P

This area is really hard. :/

Sorry this is such a short email!  Hope you guys have a great week!

*Knock Knock* Whose there? ....NO ONE. (Week 36)

Hola Todos! :)

This week has been a very slow week.  Probably one of the hardest weeks of my mission... We had 5 lessons this week, and they were all active member lessons, except one, which was a member present.  On the plus side, we picked up a new investigator!  Her name is Charlie, and she is 15.  She has been kind of investigating the church for a few months, and she wants to be baptized so bad! She is so cool!  The only problem is her parents won't let her. :(  She hasn't taken the discussion at all, but she is aloud to go to church and to activities, and that is about it. BUT. we are now teaching Preach My Gospel classes to the Young Women and she wants to come, and so we will be teaching her informally the lessons... (We are GENIUSES!) and so we are excited about that.  She is totally ready, and she says that the church and the way we live makes perfect sense, and so I'm super excited. :)  We really hope to be able to meet her parents... If they will allow us to, that is. :P

But other than that, we have been knocking on doors and no one is home.  Even when we are TRACTING.  Everyone is on vacations before school starts, and it has been really discouraging. :(  But it will kick up once school starts!.... I hope. :P
We are super duper excited for this next transfer!  :D  (Well, I am, I hope I get to stay because of this very reason.. Among others...)  But D. Todd Christopherson is coming to our stake conference! EEEEEEEEEEEK! Yay!  I am so excited!  I really hope that I can stay to see him. :)  But anyways, we are super excited about this because two of our potential investigators are coming!  The Hinkles, (whom are great friends to a lot of the members) aren't official investigators yet, only because we haven't been able to catch them and teach them.  But their daughter and Mrs. Hinkle's mom are recent converts. :)  They have gone to the General Conference this past April and are planning on going this October!  But they are super awesome and super nice. :)  They are really open to talking to us, and they have never been taught, so we are really looking forward to officially teaching them... Whenever that happens, haha. :)
Irma and Jim have been cancelling on us and haven't answered us whenever we try to get ahold of them.  But it is okay.  Irma's mom is not doing well right now, and they are currently taking care of her. So we are hoping that this next week (Because they told us yesterday we couldn't meet this week...) that we will be able to catch them. :)

Yesterday all the Hermanas and I got to sing at the Temple Music Night. :)  There were a lot of people there!  And lots of my favorite people from MV5!!!! I was so happy!  But anyways, we sang the song My Lord, My Redeemer in Spanish. :)  It turned out great! :)

Whelp.  Hope you guys are doing great, and have a wonderful week!

PS:  Pray for Zariah Tolman!  She is from my home ward.  She got in a really bad accident this past week, but luckily she is okay!  She is in lots of pain and as a lot of problems going on right now, but please pray for her and her family! Thank You! :)

Con mucho amor,
Hna. Rachel Duncan
