HUMP DAY!/9 Months Out and I have Calluses to show for it! :P (Week 35?/9 Months!

Hola! Como estan? :)

Sorry guys this is going to be a short one this week!  This week was really hard. :P  Not a lot happened! :P  Although we do have a miracle!  Our zone had a goal of getting 770 contacts this week, and our zone has never made that goal.  So we each made a goal of getting 70 contacts per companionship (we have a lot of gated communities in our area so it was hard... But we got 47, and that alone is a miracle for us!)  But as a zone... we got...
820 CONTACTS.  :D Woooooo! :) Yay! :)

HUMP DAAAAAAAY!
HUMPDAY
HUMPDAY
HUMPDAYYYYY!

AH.  I'm half way done!!!! CRAZYYYY!!!! Es bien loco!

We have 2 new investigators!  And... they are atheists.  :P GREAT.  *sigh*
Their names are Irma and Jim.  They are super nice and very kind, but they are super stubborn. :/  Everything we explain to them follows with a "Why?" and I it is completely new to me, because I've never taught an atheist! :P  They have no intention of getting baptized, sadly... But that is what THEY think... ;D We were going to have a lesson with them today, but they had to cancel... :(  But luckily, we saw them twice this last week!  So it was good. :)

Whelp.  That is pretty much it! :P

See you all in 9 months! :D

Bi-Polar California :P (Week 34 I think?)

Hola Todos! :)

It has been really bi-polar here in CA. :P
For the past few days, it has been really hot in the mornings, and then it just randomly pours cats and dogs outside. :P  Sukpposedly there was a hurricane outside of the coast of CA,and we are just getting the rain and wind from it. :P silly Weather!

This week we saw a lot of active members in the ward, just so we can get to know the members.  It was fun, and we got a lot of visits!  The members absolutely love us or something, haha. :)  We have 2 potential investigators and they are Adrianne and Irma.  Adrianne we tracted into on Tuesday night.  We had really no one to see so we decided to go tracting and we picked a random col-de-sac.  It was kind of fun how it all happened, haha :)

As we were getting out of the car we noticed a lady walking into her home and we knew we would be able to talk to her, but we went to the first house on the street, and a man answered the door and he wasn't very interested.   Then we were headed to the house which the lady walked into, and the sprinklers were on, and the path was all wet, and we were kind of conflicted if it was worth even trying to get to the door because we would be soaking wet... So we decided we would try when we went to all the houses. As we were walking away, they turned off!  We looked at each other and I said.. "IT'S A SIGN FROM GOD."  So we walk up to the door and knock on it like 3 times... and we knew that there was someone there... and they didn't answer. :P  We went onto the next house and we knew someone was there, but yet AGAIN, no one answered.  So we said, Okay, this is the last house, and then we are done.  So we go up to the door and ring the doorbell and we hear a lot of barking from like 50 dogs, and after waiting for a while, Adriane comes out!  We did the little survey with her she was super receptive of it and we asked her if she wanted to learn more and she said she did, and that she wanted us to stop by on Saturday (this past Saturday) so we could teach her and her husband together. We gave her a Book of Mormon and set up a time to go see her.  unfortunately, when we went to go see her, it was evident that they were home, and they didn't answer the door. :(  So we are hoping to stop by again this week and hopefully see her. :)

Irma was an investigator of the Elders for a while.  We have been trying to catch her, but every time we would barely miss her.  But! We finally caught her! :)  So that was good! :)  We asked her if she wanted to take the lessons from us, because we knew the Elders were teaching her, and she said that she really wasn't interested, and we said okay.  But she continued talking to us and asking us where were from, and the philosophy of why we wear skirts. :P  So after explaining it to her, she just randomly said, "Wait, I changed my mind.  I need a FEMALE perspective of this." So we set up a time to see her, and we will be seeing her tonight!  We are excited. and we hope it works out! :) She is really nice! :)

For those of you who don't, I got a Ukulele! :)  I named her Luna :) (Moon in Spanish)  She is B-E-A-U-TIFUL!  I still need to talk pictures, but I love to play my little Uke whenever I get the chance!  I have learned a lot of fun songs! :)  It is just a fun way to be busy! :)

I hope you are all having a great day! Love you all! :)

Gated Communities, Gringos, and Green Beans (week 36)

Hola! :D]

How are you all doing? :)  I hope you are all doing well! :)

So... I'm in English work!  And I actually like it a lot! :)  I am currently serving In Live Oak Canyon, which is in RSM. (Rancho Santa Margarita) It is a great ward!  I love it!  The ward is very focused on missionary work! It is amazing!  My companion is Sister Ward, and we get along great! :)  We are the first sisters to ever serve in this ward!  So we are super excited! :)

There really is nothing to report on other than when we got to our apartment, it was a complete mess. :P  Some elders had lived there before, and it was gross.  No one had lived there for over 3 months apparently... I was scarred for life.  But it is clean now, so that is good! :) Took a few days, but it is much better! :)

I really have nothing much to add... :P  We haven't had much success seeing anyone because everyone is gone for vacation. But hopefull I will have more to say next week! :)

Oh, and the area I am serving in is probably one of the richest communities in the whole mission.  So we cover 4 gated communities! :P  It is kind of hard because we can't contact in 3 of them... so.... :/  But it is okay!  And for those who don't know, Gringos in Spanish means "White  people" and Green beans are just good and they start with a "G". :D

Love you guys! :)

A WHOLE NEW WOOOOOOOOOOOORLD! (Week 35 I think?)

Hola Todos! Como estan? :)

Espero que todo es bueno! :)

So... A LOT happened this week..
First of all...
MY COMPANIONS HAD LICE. Ew. Ew. Ew. EWWWWWWW.  So on Tuesday Hna. Carmack came up to me and asked me if I could check her head for lice, because she said for the past FOUR days her head had been itching.. So I checked... and sure enough.. she had lice. A LOT OF IT.  So I had to check everyone's head and hna. Garcia had lice eggs... I was very blessed, and I didn't have anything! :D  So all day Tuesday I spent cleaning and combing out lice of Hna. Carmack's hair.  It took 4 straight hours to just comb it.  It was HORRIBLE.  Thankfully she is better now and lice free.  All I have to do is do the treatment again for her...  Hna. Garcia still has eggs in her hair.. It has been a real pain.... Ugh.

The next big news is... I'M GETTING TRANSFERRED.....
INTO ENGLISH WORK! :P
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......
I'm so scared!  I had an idea that I was going into English and Elder Corcus, one of the assistants called me and told me that I am OPENING up an area that has NEVER had sisters before. I'M. FREAKING. OUT. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!  He also said that President Orgill Choose me because he trusts me and knows I will work hard... :O
So yeah. Nothing TOO exciting.. :P haha

I WENT TO MISSION VIEJO ON THE 4TH!!!! Ahhhh, it was the BEST!  It made me SO. HAPPY.  I got to be with Hna Christensen (!!!!!!!!) and we did so many things!  First of all, we got to play Futbol! :D  I really suck at soccer, but it is a lot of fun.  It is HUGE in the two Spanish wards.  And... EMILIA CAME!!! :D  It made me so happy!  I really miss her!  But I'm so grateful I got to see her! :)  And Amalia and Pedro! Ah! My life is complete! :D Anyways... After Futbol we went out on a Friendsip date (yes, we are THOSE hermanas)  to Wendy's! :)  I freaking love Wendy's. While we were eating we got a call from los elders Norte (North Elders) and they told us we had ANOTHER dinner... OKAY! :D  So we went and it was really good food!  We went to a recent converts house and they made us some good old 4th of July food! :D  (Mexican style!)  We had Mulenadas, Which I couldn't eat because I'm allergic to it. :P  Mac n Cheese (it was so freaking good!) Pollo, (Chicken) Pasta, and pan (Bread). :)   It was really good! :)  Then afterwards we had a window and we got there and not 5 minutes into our window we found a man sitting on the side of the curb crying. :(  He was Hispanic.  We asked him if he was okay and in English he said, "If you're single.." O.O  So he goes on to telling us that his wife left him and that is was homeless and that he was al alone and just needed someone in his life.  We just looked at each other and were like... <_<      >_>
So we told him that our message that we share would really help him and that he would find peace in his life if he listened, and out of no where, he told us we were the most beautiful women he had ever met... O.O OKAY.
So we suggested that we go down into the park (Where there were lots of people) and he said he would but then he said that he had been drinking a "few" drinks and he had to go to the bathroom... AWKO TACO.  Okay.  It's fine. It's fine.
So we go down into the park and I call the North elders and ask them to come so that we could leave and that this guy wouldn't do anything stupid. :P  They came and we ran off and all is well.  they invited him to go to church the next day, and he said he would, but I guess they called him the next day and he had no idea what had happened... So yeah.

Happy 4th by the way! I love you guys!

Byeeeeeeee!

Con Amor,
Hna. Rachel Duncan
